Firstly, it is a warm greeting to European colleagues in Counselling Psychology and good wishes for the European Journal of Counselling Psychology. Secondly, liaison with European colleagues whether in informal conversation, conference submission or journal articles is valuable. Valuable not only for its collegiate opportunities, but to share perspectives on our underpinning philosophies and to widen our knowledge base regarding research and practice. To see the development of our discipline in different contexts outside the UK allows a wider appreciation of the discipline that hopefully will enrich and strengthen our existing knowledge and understanding.
